Agri-Food Pilot Begins Accepting Applications

Immigration, Citizenship, and Refugees Canada (IRCC) will accept applications to the Agri-Food Pilot program from May 15th, 2020 to May 14th, 2023. The Agri-Food Pilot program provides a path to permanent residence for workers in certain industries:

  • Greenhouse, nursery, floriculture, and mushroom production
  • Farm supervisors and specialised livestock workers
  • General farm workers
  • Harvesting labourers
  • Animal production, excluding aquaculture
  • Farm supervisors and specialised livestock workers
  • General farm workers
  • Meat products
  • Retail butchers
  • Industrial butchers
  • Farm supervisors and specialised livestock workersFood processing labourers

The program is aimed mostly at temporary foreign workers already in Canada. Existing COVID-19-related travel restrictions continue to apply. The Agri-Food Pilot program does not apply in Quebec.
